International Women's Day ~ Charity Spotlight
Established in 1983, FORWARD UK is the leading African Women-led organisation working to end violence against women and girls.
FORWARD UK works for recognition and justice on many issues, most notably their work on FGM.
‘From female genital mutilation and child marriage to domestic and sexual violence, we tackle abuse and discrimination – enabling African women and girls to have the dignity, health and equality they deserve’
This International Women’s day we want to spotlight this incredible organisation working ‘for the day when African girls and women will live in dignity, are healthy, have choices and enjoy equal rights free from fear of violence.’
Every order you make with us gives £1 towards a charity. Throughout 2020, with your help, we donated £4,287.50 to this cause.
While we are choosing this International Women’s day to celebrate being a female business, in a women led field we hope to bring attention to those fighting for a safe environment.
Working within the United Kingdom, Forward UK has multiple programs set up including;
- YPSO; young people speak out program
- MUTEFGM; musicians unite to end FGM project
- African Diaspora program
